Michigan is located in the Great Lakes Region of the U.S. and is surrounded by four of the five Great Lakes. It is the only state that consists entirely of two peninsulas. The state is divided into two separate areas by the Straits of Mackinac, which is a five mile wide channel joining Lake Huron to Lake Michigan. While in Michigan you can visit the Gerald Ford Museum that is located in Grand Rapids, the Greenfield Village in Dearborn for a trip back in time, or climb to the top of the 112-foot Big Stable Point Lighthouse.
